2008 has been a very big year for the SDA and its members.  Your participation in the Your Rights At Work campaign contributed significantly to the federal election result which has given us a Federal Labor Government committed to the abolition of WorkChoices.  The first major step in this direction has been the introduction of he Fair Work Bill (see news item on this). The Bill has now passed the House of Representatives and will be voted on by the Senate probably in the first half of 2009.  See details of some of the history of this campaign on the left.

This year the SDA has launched a national campaign for paid maternity leave.  See details of this campaign on the left.
